FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can people enter the Half-Marathon race on race day?
No. All entries must be pre-entered.

If someone cannot take part in the Half-Marathon for any reason, can they transfer their entry to someone else?
Yes. However this must be done by contacting the organiser before October 6th (events@badaguish.org) and supplying details of the replacement person as per the entry form.

How accurate is the Half-Marathon distance?
Because the majority of the route is not on tarmac roads (but also on excellent forest tracks!) it cannot be classified as ‘an accurately measured course’. However, the route has been measured and checked as 13.1 miles by an official Scottish Athletics course measuring official.

Do you need all-terrain, off-road or studded running shoes for the Highland Half-Marathon route?
No. A normal well-cushioned running shoe will be more than adequate for the course

Can I get dropped off at the Half-Marathon Start by car?
No. All competitors must catch the free shuttle bus from the Aviemore Highland Resort (see event programme for full details). No cars will be allowed access to the Badaguish Centre Start on Sunday morning

What is the Macdonald Mile Fun Run?
The Macdonald Mile Fun Run is a one-mile run (or jog, walk, bimble or wander!) to be held at 2.30pm on Saturday 17th October within the Aviemore Highland Resort. It is hoped to attract adults, children, families, wheelchair users in fact everyone to do a ‘wee mile’ around the new resort area. The entry fee is £2 for all and all entries will be taken on the day at registration within the MAHR Academy in the resort. All finishers will get a Macdonald Mile medal

Can a 'non-race entered person' run alongside a relative or friend who has entered the event?

Absolutely not. On Health and Safety grounds (as covered by the event risk assessment)this would have the potential to cause serious confusion and safety issues for event marshals, organisers and safety teams and cannot be permitted under any circumstances. Please do not contemplate this at all
